Sussex Chicken

Sussex Chicken

Why did the chicken cross the road?
Which came first the chicken or the egg?
Don't count your chicken before they are hatched.

Chickens play such a large part of our lives, just about every adult must have said at least one, if not all of the sayings above. If you start to think of the food we eat and work out how many of the nice things have egg in it makes you realise how boring our diet would be without them, not to mention that tasty roast chicken for Sunday lunch.

We are based near Heathfield in East Sussex and enjoy the free range eggs our birds produce, using them for all kind of cooking. both our daughters have their own hens and all the birds are named and handled. Cream, Stone, Specks, Vanilla, Midnight, Spots, Mertile and not forgetting Cocker Doodle.

We have recently developed an interest in the rarer breeds, and have now started breeding some of these chicken, we hope in the future to have for sale pure Araucanas, Speckled Sussex and Wyandotte plus many more.

More updates to come, and follow our blog if you wish.
